The United Nations Data Portal in the Arab Region is a bilingual (Arabic/English) database-based portal developed by the Statistics, Information Society and Technology Cluster of ESCWA in support of its program that employs statistics in evidence-based policy-making.
The portal facilitates public access to data repositories collected from primary sources, such as national statistical offices in member states, government institutions in the Arab region, and specialized studies published by United Nations organizations, including ESCWA, and other international entities.
Visitors to the portal benefit from free and unrestricted access to complete data repositories, visual presentations, and easy-to-use visual tools used to create custom dashboards that can be converted into multiple formats and shared with others over the Internet.
The portal allows displaying data using various tables, graphs, and geographical maps, and makes it easier for users to search through the data and content it provides. Users can also download reports and publications and browse news items.
A responsive web design was used to create the portal, which allows access to information using mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones.
